The presence of these Christ followers in the community brings a fresh sense of faith, a selfless love, and a new kind of hope. They celebrate and embrace God's eternal plan for Jesus to be the hope of the world. The heartbeat of these followers can be felt in neighborhoods, where the language of "we" replaces "me." They gather in groups where it's safe to risk, be vulnerable, and share life deeply. They are marked by a radical kind of love and acceptance; the mark of Jesus Christ and His followers. While their hearts beat with the compassion of Christ, these followers are on mission to change the world into a place where no need goes unmet. Neighborhoods become places where the word "lonely" doesn't exist; where a smile replaces suspicion and security replaces fear and the real issues of poverty are addressed. Holding all things loosely, generosity replaces self-centeredness and compassion calls them to take risks. Personal contribution becomes a path to obedience, fulfillment, unity and joy.
