Serve Chicago

This summer we are changing our focus from attending a summer camp to serving on Restore Youth's first mission trip! Our students are very excited about the change and below you'll find all the details.

When and Where?

On June 30 - July 6th we will take 22 high school students to Chicago. Most of our time will be spent on the city’s south side, housing in Canaryville and serving in the surrounding community.

Cost?

Early Bird price of $349 lasts until February 17th. Then the regular price of $399 lasts until April 28th. Registration is on a first come first serve basis. You can pay a non-refundable $50 deposit today and the remaining amount by May 26th. The cost includes 15 meals, transportation, mission organization staff, materials for on site projects, and evening activities. Compared to summer camp last year, if you register by February 17th you're getting a 7 day experience for the price of camp last year which was a 5 day experience.

What will we be doing?

Our group will help to meet the needs of Chicago’s people by partnering with local ministries working with children, the elderly, and those experiencing homelessness. We may also have the opportunity to serve at a food pantry or urban garden and contribute to the work being done to eliminate food insecurity. In the evenings, learn from local friends about the community, experience a taste of downtown Chicago, and enjoy a community cookout. On the last day of our trip, we will head into downtown Chicago and do all the touristy things. Part of which includes visiting the observation deck of Willis Tower.

Who can go?

-Student's who will graduate 8th grade by May 2019

-Students who are currently in high school.

-You don't need to be part of Restore to sign up, invite a friend!

Is the RY Summer Internship required to go?

Nope! We encourage students who sign up for the summer internship to also sign up for this mission trip. Likewise, we would encourage anyone who signs up for the mission trip to also sign up for the internship. However, we completely understand if both don't work with your schedule!
