Eyewitness

Christmas provided so much hope for those who experienced it, but what does it mean for me? This Christmas, join us as we look at the accounts of Jesus unfold through the perspective of those who witnessed it firsthand. See how Christmas truly did provide hope for everyone and see we can find our own Christmas story inside of theirs. Together we will see how no matter who we are, the Christmas story is for all of us.

Genetically Generous

We are all wired for generosity with our time, skills, and money. But we experience this wiring in different ways. Understanding your profile can help you leverage your natural inclinations and also challenge you to recognize areas in which you can grow.

JONAH

Jonah is one of the most familiar stories in the Bible. Jonah is told to go preach to a city far away. He tries to run from God, gets eaten by a big fish, and changes his mind. But the story of Jonah is so much more than just these plot points. It's about hate, mercy, forgiveness, anger, and God's grace for those who run.

SHAKEN

Deconstruction is not something to be feared, convinced out of, or rushed through.

It’s not a trendy thing, or an excuse to live life your own way.  It’s a necessary part of life that, done right, leads to a resilient faith.

Through the Years

God explains himself to us in parental terms.  God the Father and God the Son.
We are adopted into God’s own family.
The parent-child relationship matters because it mirrors God’s relationship with us. It has the power to wound and to bless. We can learn to heal from the wounds, and pass on the blessings.

THE STORY OF ESTHER

There is no book of the Bible like Esther. God's name is never mentioned, yet countless generations of Christians agree God is very present in the story.

It contains intense themes of human trafficking, racism and attempted genocide, toxic leadership, and somehow still God's justice shines through.

Above Anxiety

Taking control of an emotion that wants to take control of you.
Whether you have Generalized Anxiety Disorder, or just experience a lot of anxiety from life circumstances, Anxiety is always trying to take control. Rather than ignore it or try to “cure” it, Jesus shows us how we can learn to live Above Anxiety.

Discovering God

Part of what growing in our faith means is also growing in our knowledge of who God is and how He works in the world. The more we understand his nature and character, the more confident we can move through our daily lives, understanding his will for us. For that, we look to the story of the Exodus, the story of Moses.

Finding Financial Freedom

Do your finances bring you fear or freedom? Whether you’re digging out of debt or planning for your future, now’s the time to build a foundation that endures. Investing in a brighter tomorrow starts by making changes today.

PRACTICING A RULE OF LIFE

We all have habits, patterns, and structures that are pointing our lives in a direction, even if it’s not intentional. We can break free from the chaos of life by building a Rule of Life, a life-giving structure like a trellis, that guides us to growth and loving God and our neighbor better.

THE WORLD TURNED UPSIDE DOWN

The birth of Jesus turned the world upside down. 2000 years later, Jesus is still turning the world upside down. Because of Jesus the lost are found, the least are loved, the lonely find belonging and we find hope at Christmas!

RED LETTER LIFE

What would happen if we lived out the words of Jesus? There's tons of great things in the Bible, but what would happen if we focused on what Jesus and lived out those words?

What would our lives look like? What would Restore, our neighborhoods, schools, and communities look like?

RETHINKING CHURCH

Church is such a loaded word. We all have assumptions about the Church, good or bad, that we've picked up or inherited from our own experience. But what is the Church, really? And what is it supposed to be?

We're taking an honest look to learn how we can put our expectations aside to be exactly what the Church was always meant to be.

RE-ASSEMBLY REQUIRED

When it comes to repairing relationships, no one responds well to being convinced, coerced, convicted or controlled. Yet we try those approaches over and over again.

Not every relationship can be reconciled, but what would it look like if we all followed Jesus’ example and worked to reconcile our broken relationships?

HOW THE BIBLE WORKS

The Bible is…What word would you use to describe the Bible? Unique? Helpful? Maybe confusing?

The Bible is a beautiful, wonderful, complicated book. In this series we're asking the questions "How does the Bible work? What does it do? Why do we even need it?"

HOW WE LOVE MATTERS

God is love, the greatest commandments are to love God and love others, and Jesus says we are recognized as his followers by our love. Love is a BIG DEAL. So let’s talk about how we love one another, what that love looks like, because when we get it wrong, it can do so much damage but when we get it right, it will change absolutely everything.

CRISIS IS CONSTANT

Jesus said “In this world you will have trouble.”  (John 16:33).  Trouble is normal.  Crisis is constant. We are always either in a crisis, coming out of a crisis, or entering into a new crisis.

Crisis will drive you somewhere: To God or away from God. To insanity or to clear thinking. To chaos or to peace. We want to equip you break the crisis-to-crisis lifestyle and build a better life.

Jesus is divine AND human

Without Jesus’ humanity, we see him as a superhero, someone who didn’t really experience the limitations we experience. Instead, Jesus emptied Himself to become fully human. He walked in our shoes and showed us the way to flourish as human beings. In Jesus, we see who humans were originally designed to be. Through his death and resurrection, he has restored our lost humanity.

NORMAL ISN’T WORKING

Everyone desires a life that is filled with meaning and purpose, but the normal way we live our lives doesn't get us there. We can’t keep doing what’s “normal” and expect life changing results.
To live a life full of meaning we need to live in contrast. It’s the lives of contrast, not normality, which reshapes the paths of families, communities, and nations.

KEEP THE CHANGE

The world around us pushes us to get more spend more, but that path leaves us with crippling debt and a never ending game of comparison.
What if there was a better way? A way to control your money rather than have it control you. This is the way Jesus teaches, where the change we keep is the change in you and me.

TEACH US TO PRAY

When the Disciples asked Jesus "teach us to pray" Jesus didn't respond with a lecture about prayer, he showed them how to pray. These next few weeks in our series we'll be talking about Prayer. What is it? Why do we do it? But most importantly, we'll be practicing how we do it.

HOPE FOR EVERYONE

The season of Advent is a season, of expectation, of hope. The people of Israel had been waiting on a promised Messiah for hundreds of years. Many lost hope and wondered if God was going to come through on His promises. Like the Israelites, many of us have lost hope because our current circumstances are overwhelming. In this series we discover through the eyes of others that the birth of Jesus means HOPE for everyone.

SENT

The same God who saved us also wants to send us to be missionaries in our everyday communities.

The good news is being Sent doesn't mean adding another destination or task to your daily grind. You are sent right where you are.

The Kingdom

We often think of the Kingdom of God as far away and in the future, but Jesus brought the Kingdom to us. But what is the Kingdom of God and what does it mean to be a part of it? Each week we’ll cover one of the comparisons Jesus makes that teach us what the Kingdom is like and what that means for us.

THIS CHANGES EVERYTHING

Jesus came to change the status quo and the cycle of suffering in the world. Because of Jesus, a better life and the Kingdom of God aren't things far off in this distance, but are here and now with us and in us today! This changes everything.

Mind Matters

We all struggle with thoughts that cause us to question our value and purpose. Sometimes no matter how hard we fight, these thoughts can take over our lives. But God tells us something different. Each week of this series addresses a mental health challenge and encourages us to fight back with God’s truth. Let’s break the silence, remove the stigma, and encourage each other to find help and hope for the future.

FUTURE FAMILY

Family. We all have one.
While some of us loved our 'growing up' years, others of us couldn't wait to move out and start fresh.

We want our Future Family to be a step up from our families of origin. Most of us want something better for our children.
But what? When it comes to family, what does a preferred future look like?
What exactly are we aiming for?

Who Needs God?

People are migrating away from religion at an unprecedented rate. Once upon a time, people believed religion offered solutions. Today, many people view religion as the problem.

In this series, we address this tension and help set a foundation for faith that will stand up to the rigors of the real world.

BE FOR

We are living in a culture where we are defined by what we are against. We even group

together with others based on what we are against. As Christ Followers, we can change this narrative and become known by what we are FOR.

ONE

Kansas City is the 10th most diverse mid-size city in the United States with an estimated 65 diverse people groups in the metro!

We partnered with over 150 churches during this series as we walked through the life of Jesus through the book of Mark, encouraging everyone to reach one person.
