We need to talk about death! I don’t think we talk about it enough. We often think of physical death—the loss of a friend, a pet, or a loved one—and thinking about death can dredge up some really painful memories, so we avoid the topic altogether. But I think we’re supposed to talk about it, because it’s more than just physical death. It’s dead relationships, dead dreams, dead careers, dead emotions, and what we do is we often try to look for life among those dead things. Why do we try to look for life among the things that are dead? What if there’s a better place to be looking for life? What if there’s a place we can look for hope, for peace, for restoration? What if the question we get to ask ourselves is: where are we supposed to find life?
