Waldo is a neighborhood marked by change and transition—people moving in and out, businesses opening and closing. In the midst of all that movement, we believe the church is called to be something different: a place that is rooted. A steady, reliable place where people can encounter the living God in worship, find lasting relationships in community and contribute to what God is up to in the world on mission. This is why we are putting down roots at 8107 Holmes—to be here for the long haul, faithfully present in Waldo.

Money Breakdown

Rooted in Waldo is our two-year effort to raise $800,000. These funds will support the ongoing life of our church—covering two years of ministry expenses, putting a down payment on the facility at 8107 Holmes, and beginning to pay down the mortgage. A portion will also go toward community impact and future church planting efforts. Every dollar given is an investment in creating a rooted, faithful presence in Waldo for years to come.

TWO Years of Ministry Expenses 500,000

Kids’ city

Through leadership, relationships, and curriculum, we provide a safe atmosphere for kids to learn about Jesus, and to partner with parents as they guide their children in faith outside of our walls.

Creative Arts

Through creative use of the arts and technology, many people have been drawn into a deeper relationship with the God who loves them. Our music, tech, lights, video, and other aspects of the weekend services are powerful tools that help people find their way back to God.

Community Life

Through shared rhythms, honest conversations, and life-on-life relationships, our small groups create environments where God’s Spirit transforms our character and activates our calling.

Guest Services

Whether making coffee, preparing communion, or greeting at the door, our Guest Services team offers incredible hospitality and intentional presence so that everyone who walks through our doors feels seen and cared for.

Center of Excellence

As a multisite church, our Center of Excellence team provides support to our campuses in key areas of administration and oversight. Our leaders further our mission of helping people find their way back to God through behind-the-scenes operations pertaining to facilities, communications, human resources, and more.

Community Impact & Church Planting $50,000

A portion of Rooted in Waldo will go toward Community Impact and Church Planting. These funds will help us continue responding to real needs in our neighborhood with compassion and practical support. We also want to support new churches in our city that are helping people find their way back to God. Changing the spiritual landscape of Kansas City takes more than one church. By investing in church planting, we will help more faith communities take root and bring hope to neighborhoods across our city.

Building Purchase $250,000

$250,000 will go directly toward the down payment on our facility at 8107 Holmes. The total purchase price of the building is $800,000. This substantial down payment will keep our monthly mortgage payments lower than what we currently pay in rent. This investment allows us to secure a permanent home in Waldo— establishing long-term stability and freeing us to focus on ministry, community presence, and mission for years to come.

FAQs

  • We’ve chosen a one-fund approach to channel all of our giving into a unified, focused strategy. Rather than separating funds for buildings, ministry, and outreach, we believe our mission is best supported when everything works together. This approach allows every dollar given to fuel the full vision of who we’re becoming as a church, helping us stay rooted in Waldo while growing our impact across Kansas City.

  • We will continue to move forward with wise stewardship as the provision God grants us comes in. But there is no question that God is asking us to be “Rooted in Waldo”. We want to be a church that stays in this community for the long haul.

  • This is a significant one-time gift that will go directly toward the down payment. Let’s say you feel led to give $20,000 over two years. You might give a First Fruits gift of $4,000 this Fall and then give the rest—about $600 a month—over the following two years.

  • We are asking that everyone make a two-year commitment. The fulfillment of your commitment will begin in November 2025 and will culminate in November 2027.

  • There are four ways you can give:

    • You can give a one-time or recurring gift through the Church Center app.

    • You can always give on Sunday by cash or check.

    • You can give through our website at Restorecc.org/give

    • Restore can also receive appreciated assets and investments like stocks and bonds.
